GUA Fortified Home Program

Georgia Underwriting Association recognizes this FORTIFIED and enables homeowners to receive a credit that applies for the wind peril under the homeowners and dwelling programs.

Three levels of Fortified Home designation are available as follows:

  • 5% for Bronze
  • 7.5% for Silver
  • 10% for Gold

Catastrophe Savings Account

These accounts are designed to help individuals prepare financially for catastrophic weather events that cause damage to their primary residence.

A “catastrophic event” is defined broadly to include windstorms, hurricanes, tornadoes, ice storms, floods, hail, earthquakes, and similar occurrences, provided the event is declared a disaster or emergency by the Governor.

FHLB Atlanta Affordable Housing Program

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta's Affordable Housing Program supports affordable housing projects through competitive grants, granting extra scoring points for FORTIFIED construction to strengthen storm resilience in housing developments.
